In 2022, Chelsea started an online shoe-making course to learn how to design and construct new shoes. From this course, she learned pattern drafting on a last, cutting, sewing and assembling uppers and lowers for sandals, ballet flats and heels. She has additional goals to create sneakers and boots as she continues the course.

Using the skills she acquired from this course, she also starting doing costume-related modifications and repairs at the University of Iowa Costume shop. The following are examples of some of her work.
