Chelsea is an accomplished professional seeking a Master of Arts for Costume Design and Arts Leadership at the University of Iowa. With her lengthy career working in demanding corporate environments, Chelsea brings a unique combination of artistic vision, leadership, and strategic expertise to every project. She has many years experience leading and collaborating on teams, meeting deadlines, and communicating about complex deliverables needs.
Her journey into costume design is deeply rooted in a lifelong passion for sewing and fashion. With many years of sewing experience, Chelsea loves creating unique clothing and accessories, teaching sewing classes, and collaborating with independent sewing pattern designers as a pattern tester. Her passion for creating unique wardrobe items for herself transformed in 2023, as she revisited theatrical costume design at the University of Iowa Theater Costume shop. Chelsea found that visual storytelling allows us to create less practical fashion, extending her crafting skills and allowing more creativity than day-to-day clothing.
In her free time, Chelsea enjoys making, adventure paddling, and travel.
Chelsea looks forward to collaborating on projects that celebrate creativity, kindness, and joy.
